How to convert to JPG
1
Drop your files
One picture or a whole batch, of any type your browser opens, or a PDF. Each opens in the Compix editor as a page of its own.
2
Leave it on JPG
The Download menu is set to JPG already. For PNG, WebP or PDF instead, change File type there.
3
Download
A single picture comes back as a .jpg with its own name. A batch, or a PDF of several pages, comes back in one zip.
What it converts
An iPhone photo picked on the iPhone comes in as a JPG. On a computer, a HEIC file needs exporting as JPEG first.
Your originals are never touched. The JPGs are new files, made inside this browser tab, and nothing is uploaded to make them.
Crop a picture, add words or a logo, or set a background color before you download: it opens in an editor.

Questions
How do I convert an image to JPG?+
Drop it on this page, or tap the drop area and pick it. It opens in the Compix editor with the Download menu already on JPG. Press Download the work and the JPG is saved, named after your picture. Drop several and they come back together in one zip.
How do I convert a PDF to JPG?+
Drop the PDF here. Every page opens in the editor, and Download the work gives a JPG of each one: a single JPG for a one-page PDF, a zip of them for more. Each page is drawn at 300 dots per inch.
Is it free?+
Yes. No account, no watermark, no payment and no trial, however many pictures you convert.
Which pictures can I convert to JPG?+
PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP and any other picture your browser opens, and you can mix them in one drop. A JPEG or JFIF file comes back ending in .jpg. A moving GIF gives its first frame here; the GIF to JPG converter gives every frame.
Can I convert many pictures at once?+
Yes. Drop them together and each opens as a page of its own. They download as one zip with a JPG for each, named after its file, in the order you dropped them.
What happens to a transparent background?+
It turns white, because a JPG cannot be see-through. Our round shop logo, clear around the circle, came out on a white square. To keep the background clear, choose PNG in the Download menu instead and turn on Transparent background there.
Are the JPGs smaller?+
Usually, much smaller than a PNG of a photo. Each JPG is saved at 92% quality. Our 4000 by 3000 bouquet photo was a 5.9 MB PNG and became a 1.2 MB JPG, the same size in pixels.
Can I convert a JPG to PNG, WebP or PDF?+
Yes. Drop the JPG, then change File type in the Download menu. Our bouquet JPG saved as a 10.4 MB PNG, a 660 KB WebP or a one-page PDF of 1.2 MB.
Does it keep the size of my pictures?+
Yes, each JPG is as many pixels wide and tall as the picture it came from. On an iPhone or iPad, a picture over about 16 megapixels comes in at about 16, the most the browser there can handle.
What about iPhone photos?+
On the iPhone itself, tap the drop area and pick the photo: it comes in as a JPG already. On a computer, most browsers cannot open a HEIC file, so the page says so instead; export it as JPEG from Preview or Photos first.
Can I change a picture before converting it?+
Yes. It opens in an editor: crop it, add words or your logo, or delete a page you do not want. The JPG shows what you see.
Can I convert on my phone?+
Yes. Tap the drop area and pick the pictures on your phone. Tap Share, then Download the work, and the JPG or the zip is saved to your phone.
Are my files uploaded?+
No. The pictures open inside this browser tab, on your device, and the JPGs are made there. Nothing is sent to a server for that. If you sign in to save your work, it is saved online with its pictures, so it opens on any device.
