What makes a research poster work
One finding, said first
People give a poster a few seconds as they walk past. Put the main result in the title or a big number at the top, and let the columns explain it.
Read from a few steps away
Keep the title large and the body text short: a few lines a section, with the chart doing most of the talking.
Columns that read in order
Lay the sections out left to right in the order people read them, the same width, with space between, so the eye never has to hunt.
